The 4-methoxybenzyloxymethyl (MBom) group at the N^π-position of histidine is explicitly designed for conventional and microwave assisted Fmoc-SPPS. Fmoc-His(MBom) is a useful Fmoc-derivative to suppress the racemization during the coupling process of the His residue.
